Surf Day
Saturday morning was a bit laid back as our appointment for Surfing was for 2 to 4 pm. After breakfast in the morning, we had small group time to continue our theme on Balance in our lives. Then some free time to hang out at the beach or lay out by the pool. Most of the rooms are right by the pool. Although it appears to be spring break, the Wakulla Suites seems to be pretty booked with families. Therefore, we have lots of families outside the door playing in the pool.
After a nice lunch here in the rooms (thanks Mary Beth and Denise!), we had a bit of free time before heading down to Ron Jon's Surf School. Once there, they suited the youth up with their wet suits and gave them the beginning instructions. Then off to the beach to get in the water. The youth had a great time out in the surf! The weather was perfect and the waves were just right for learning. Check out the photo gallery here! I hope to have a link to some video later on tonight. (The first draft of the video is HERE!)

Travel to Cocoa Beach
We got off to a typical late start but that's okay as we were practicing our laid back surfing lifestyle. After a nice relaxing dinner at Chick-Fil-a, we made the 2+ hour drive across the state. At a rest stop, some of the youth found a cute armadillo that was completely oblivious to our presence. We were able to walk right up to it and take photos. Check out the video to see a short clip of the critter.
We started our time at the Wakulla Suites by having an end of the day Bible study and introduction to our theme for the weekend -- Balance in our lives.
Day One
This afternoon at 5:30 there will be 16 youth and adults heading over to Cocoa Beach for our annual Surf Retreat Weekend. Please pray for our group and safe travel.
