We pretty much started our trip when we said we would. It was just a little after 10 pm that we pulled out of LCC. The drive up was quiet and uneventful until around 10 am Sunday morning. We had a tire blow-out on the trailer near Newberry South Carolina. The trailer handled nicely as we pulled off the road and traffic wasn't bad at that time of the morning. We quickly determined that we needed to take the tire in to have it replaced. Our spare for the trailer was stolen some time ago and we hadn't replaced it. Anyway, we quickly removed the tire, loaded it up and took all the youth to the nearest WalMart where we were educated about South Carolina "Blue Law". It turns out that in South Carolina, stores are only able to sell food products before 1:30 PM on Sundays. While this sounds like a great philosophy, it turns out to be inconvenient for us. Anyways, we made use of the time by bringing the youth to Newberry Lutheran College for a quick tour of their campus, then off to have some lunch in Newberry. Finally, back to WalMart to have the tire replaced. We were back on the road by 2:30 and pulled into Lutherock 6 minutes before dinner was to be served -- perfect timing! This is why we leave a little earlier than we need to -- in case something unexpected comes up. If not, that gives us time to go play at a park before pulling into Lutherock.
Internet connection is very slow here so photo uploads will be small and few this week. I might find a better connection in town at some point. But please be patient with us as we try to get something for you to view.
